How to Heal a Broken Heart

Wander.
To pavements, and tiled floors,
Wooden planks, and dirt roads.
To concrete walls, and beady curtains,
Store windows, and familiar carpets.

Get lost.
In the sea of faces, and the whirlwind of words,
The smell of the earth, the sounds in the air.

Indulge.
In the beauty of friendships, and fond memories,
In crazy laughters, and peaceful solitude.

Look up.
To where the light is, to where the smiles are.
To where there is joy, and the unknown.

Breathe.
In with what you are today,
Out with what must go away.
The coffee, and tea, and cakes, and cookies.
Live with all of your follies.

Take time.
To stitch together your various parts,
To patch up together your broken heart,
To know that noone else will fix you up,
That it’s what strong people to– casts, and plasters, stitches, and balms.

Heal.
Your heart, that you keep loving.
Your heart, that you keep smiling.
Your heart, that you keep hoping.
Your heart, that you keep trusting.

Live.
Right in this moment that you breathe.
Right in this moment you’re allowed to feel.
Right in this moment you’re alive to be real.
Right in the beauty that you can heal.
